Dear John is directed by Lasse Hallstrom and distributed by Screen Gems. It was produced by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Ryan Kauvanaugh. The film was written by Jamie Linden and is an adaptation of a Nicolas Sparks’ novel with the same name. The fil was released on February 5, 2010.

Dear John 2010 Film Synopsis
It happened in the year of 2001. A college student named Savannah Lynn Curtis (Amanda Seyfried) met a young soldier John Tyree (Channing Tatum).Savannah is on a spring break and John was on leave from the Army Special Forces. John’s leave is only a few days and in that few days, they fell in love. When it was time for John to go back to duty, Savannah suggested that they write letters to each other, that way, they get to be together even if they are really not. John thought that he will be enlisted after the September 11 attacks, but he was not. He then have to go back and face increasingly dangerous missions for the next seven years.

It had been hard for Savannah, who felt that their relationship is starting to drift apart. She then wrote a letter, a Dear John letter, telling him that he begun seeing her friend Tim. When John found this out, he enters a dangerous area while on a mission and was shot several times. He awakes in a hospital and was informed that he is being sent home. Releived but afraid, John is not sure of what to do when he sees Savannah.
